Hushe is a little world where men and the mountain meet round the clock. It is called mini Baltistan.
The valley possesses some of the beautiful most peaks and glaciers of the Karakorum.
It offers shorter and easier treks for every age of persons. Either one climb the
Ghandoghoro Pass (5600mt) and reach K2 bc or just spend days making short excursion
trips within a minimum altitude around Hushe. The gigantic mount Mashabrum (7821mt)
is the mightiest asset of the region, which dominates the whole valley. There are even
possibilities of carrying out family treks with children in this remote region. The beautiful
glaciers of Tsaraqsa (k7bc), Ghandoghoro (Khuspang), Mashabrum and Aling offer vast varieties
of interest for trekkers and hikers. Excursion hiking of few days in Hunbroq (summer pastures)
lets one explore life of Balti shepherds.
Hushe names the village as well as the whole northern valley of Khaplu.
The proper Hushe village is situated at a distance of 40kms from Khaplu
(140 from Skardu). En-route there come surpasses villages of Machulo,
Talis and Kande offering more opportunities for trekkers and climbers.
The beautiful Nangma valley of Kande is being considered a new heaven for
rock climbers and camping lovers. The famous Amin Brakk and Changi Towers
have been inviting world-class mountaineers towards this remote zone.
Another surprise of the valley is the newly explored view point of K2 from the green
mountains of Machulo. This easily approachable viewpoint gives spectacular ever seen
scenery of the 4 highest peaks of Karakorum, the K2, Broad peak and the Gashabrums.
This remarkable point is only at a distance of 2 days walk (hike) above Machulo.
Beside mountain views one can also see the whole Khaplu valley from this place.
The valley is also well - known for local Balti folk and traditional activities.
In Khaplu, on the occasions of annual festivals, the people from this valley present
folk dance, music and cultural shows. Mini cultural shows and festivals are celebrated
occasionally in the valley round the year.
Throughout the valley, the people are friendly and tourist respecting as most
of their living is related to tourism working with porters, cooks, guides and
